Energy Monitoring

Energy Monitoring

The Brief

An industrial facility operator needed granular visibility into energy consumption across multiple site loads at the submeter level to identify waste, reduce utility costs, and improve operational efficiency. The customer also required an intelligent forecasting capability to anticipate future energy demand based on outside weather conditions, time of use, and day of use—enabling smarter scheduling and load management decisions.

The Solution

  • Deployed a multi-point energy monitoring solution using smart submeters across various site loads including HVAC, lighting, equipment racks, and transmitter loads.
  • Integrated the generator controller via Modbus to capture real-time generator performance data alongside energy consumption metrics for a unified site view.
  • Aggregated all data through a central IoT gateway and transmitted it securely over a dedicated network or APN to a cloud IoT platform.
  • Delivered a unified dashboard showing generation, solar input, and load consumption, enabling informed energy management decisions across the entire site.
  • Implemented a machine learning model to forecast energy consumption based on outside weather conditions, time of use, and day of use—providing actionable predictions for demand planning and cost optimization.
  • Implemented real-time alerting on the dashboard to surface threshold breaches and fault conditions as they occur.
